Brad Friedel has been declared bankrupt in the US despite earning £40,000 a week.
He set up a football academy in America but the project failed and he was only left with huge debts to pay.
The Villa keeper who is not rated by Houllier (from their time at Liverpool) could also be shipped out soon.
He may be in deep trouble for the rest of his life as he is 40 and will not be able to continue to play for much longer.
